Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth where rust or moths corrupts or where thieves break in and steal but lay up treasures in heaven where moth and rust does not corrupt and thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is there will your heart be also.
I can only agree whole-heartedly with the statements within.
And I can say with confidence: that though my faith is fluctuating, and there are times in which I feel low and need my faith to be re-energized, I will continue to know this, and praise the LORD for it:
That I helped bring two souls to Christ.
One of them I had prayed for months. The other simply happened. Both ways, I can only thank the LORD -- because from Him is it possible for us to understand the Bible and the words within in the way they were meant to be understood.
This society is wrong in its ways. Oh so very wrong. But I have hope that one day things will cycle and all will get better again. We just gotta pray and lean on God. We just gotta have hope for the things we can't change alone.
"Nothing was gained under the sun"
Nothing was gained on earth, in the end.
that is always true
But what was gained in Heaven? THat's what really matters.
I wouldn't dare risk what I have for something short and superficial. So many times I'm reminded of how deep and deep-cutting Christ is when you actually let Him take control, and the amazing things that happen when you actually rely on Him for the things that you can't change, and the stories you can tell when you have to suffer and feel pain.
I wouldn't give up the treasures I already have that matter so much for something that could so easily be stolen away from me. But in Christ we will not be removed from Him, because nothing is greater than God. So often I try to remind myself of what I need to trust in order to keep going day after day.
And when I do remember, and act upon it, the results are stunning.
